I never make special posts about news but I think this deserves it. Time Warner has just signed a new, multi-series deal with Warner Bros that will provide the channel with many new original shows that will start debuting this fall on international Boomerang channels. First to come are Bunnicula, Be Cool Scooby Doo! and Wabbit. The deal will also extend Boomerang’s access to the classic animation portfolio from the
Hanna-Barbera, MGM and Warner Bros. Animation collection, a total of
3,500 titles. This is of course Turner's well known library that Boomerang has been using all these years but is sadly using less and less lately. Hopefully this deal will help the channel really become what the rebrand promised - a mix of modern originals and old classics, a place for both kids and grown ups.

"extend Boomerang's access to the classic animation portfolio from Hanna-Barbera, MGM and Warner" - Could you be a little more specific?
ReplyDeleteIn what way has Boomerang lost access over the years to that portfolio. As I recall, a couple of years back they were still airing Tex Avery cartoons.-Georgi
I'm not really sure but it seems like, even though Turner owned HB/MGM/pre 48 WB cartoons, it still had to pay something to Time Warner for using it. Not sure, this is just my guess....
DeleteThank you...now, kindly explain your explanation, if you will. What do you mean by pre-48 WB cartoons. Has Boomerang ever aired Warner Bros./Looney Tunes cartoons made after 1948?-Georgi
ReplyDeleteTurner owned all the WB cartoons and movies made before 1948.
DeleteWhen the channel "Boomerang" will broadcast a new series of "Inspector Gadget"?
ReplyDeleteIn what world are you living? The new "Inspector Gadget" premiered on Boomerang CEE on 2nd February 2015 (when the channel rebranded to it's current look).
DeleteWhen you will post August schedule and are Looney tunes classic coming back
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I get it.
DeleteWhat do you all think, will there be a chance for Tex Avery to return on Boom CEE? Oh, how i miss that show.
ReplyDeletePlease, Please, PLEEEASE!-Georgi.
DeleteRussia is sick of the many old series "Tom and Jerry" on the channel "Boomerang"!
ReplyDeleteAnd why the hell should we care? The classic Tom and Jerry is now the best thing on Boom CEE, if only they could bring back more classic shorts. Has anyone noticed that all the T&J classic shorts they play on Boomerang CEE have dialogue? Not kidding, every single one of them.
DeletePlus that Tom & Jerry Tales should leave the schedule already, it's one of the worst T&J shows created ever.
I don't understand why don't they play the episodes without dialogue since these don't have to be translated and it would make sense for them to use them.
DeleteI also wonder why. CN RSEE also only played the shorts without dialogue, according to what I saw on the schedules posted on @CartoonNetworkRulzz's fansite for Cartoon Network RSEE. Both situations are nonsensical, I tell you.
DeleteAccording to my information that Russia and the CIS countries will become poor countries without these cartoons Studio "Hanna-Barbera" on TV channel "Boomerang"!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, yes, now that you mentioned it, every single one of the episodes have at least one line of dialogue! and you are right about T&J Tales. It's pretty bad.-Georgi
ReplyDeleteI like Tom and Jerry, Tom and Jerry Tales and The Tom and Jerry Show. Tom and Jerry Tales is not bad to me.
ReplyDeleteIn Boom CEE, however the series premiere wabbit and Be Cool Scooby Doo will probably be postponed to 2016.
ReplyDeleteRNDH1987 when will you post the August schedule?
ReplyDeleteBoomerang Central & Eastern Europe doesn't air every Tom & Jerry short that has at least one line of dialogue. For example: Dog Trouble.
ReplyDeleteАnd like when did they air "Dog Trouble" because i haven't seen him or even spotting him on the schedule of one site where they show the episodes they air
DeletePlus even that episode has a dialogue made by Mammy Two Shoes.
Central and Eastern European version of the channel "Boomerang" doesn't broadcast the old cartoons Studio "Hanna-Barbera" for Russia and CIS countries - hatred for the TV company "Russia Turner Broadcasting System"!
