January 2013 WEEKDAYS

Boomerang starts the new year with a whole new schedule, several new shows and a lot of changes, most of them good. Here's more details.

1. Puppy in My Pocket is GONE!!! What a great start to a new year, I was never a fan of this show and it never belonged on Boomerang. Plus it occupied three 30 minute slots so now we get 90 minutes more for better shows.

2. Cartoonito slots are changed a bit. Early morning slot is now from 07.00 till 08.20. Midday slot stays the same (11.00-12.45) while the evening slot is now 10 minutes shorter (17.00-19.15).

3. Boomerang Cinema still airs on Wednesday and Saturday but no longer on Sunday.

4. Skunk Fu joins the channel on January 1. This is probably the only news I don't like. Didn't like this show when it was on Cartoon Network plus it's not a classic and does not have a classic cartoon character. It airs weekdays at 13.40 & 04.55.

5. Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries join the channel on January 28. This was expected and a lot of us speculated that it could come in January, it will air weekdays at 10.35 & 16.35.

6. The Flintstones are back, in a decent weekday slot, in fact in prime time at 20.30 followed by The Jetsons at 21.00. Great evening line up.

7. Tom & Jerry get more better slots. Last few months classic Tom & Jerry have been sidelined in the schedule, especially with Tom & Jerry Tales joining the channel and getting several daytime slots. Classic shorts will now have two 15 minute slots, at 15.15 & 21.30. It's important to keep the classic shorts alive despite all the new versions of many classic characters.

8. Popeye is gone, not surprising considering the limited number of episodes they aired plus the fact they reduced it to just one short since last week.

If there are any changes between now and January I will update this post.

  1. I have just posted an ovenfresh schedule from Boomerang in my country - plus CN's schedules for the outcoming month.

  2. I don't know if you had a look, but Skunk Fu appears to just air the episodes alone. No intro or end credits, just straight to the episode. The UK used to do that several times, till eventually they decide to put the whole show back together.
